1. Why does the connection of Remote Mouse fail?

Please make sure that you have done the following steps:

  1. Remote Mouse server program is running rightly on your Mac / PC
  2. Your Mac / PC's Firewall, or any other Anti-virus software is not blocking Remote Mouse
  3. The Wi-Fi of your mobile device is turned on
  4. Your mobile device and Mac / PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi (or hotspot).
  5. In some networks, "Auto Connect" may not function. In this case, please try manually connecting - by entering your computer's IP address, or Scanning the QR code generated by Remote Mouse server.
  6. Some routers' setting may also affect the connection. In this case, try turn off and reconnect the Wi-Fi on your mobile device
  7. The ultimate solution to all: reboot your mobile device and router

 

 

2. How do I get my computer's QR code?

Run Remote Mouse on your Mac / PC. Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar (top right corner on Mac, bottom right corner on PC) and choose “Show QR code” on the pop-up menu.

 

 

3. How do I know my computer's IP address?

Run Remote Mouse on your Mac / PC. Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar (top right corner on Mac, bottom right corner on PC) and choose “Show IP Address” on the pop-up menu.

 

 

4. How to change the two-finger scrolling direction?

Open Remote Mouse App, go to the “Settings” screen (the gear icon), turn on / off the “Natural Scrolling” option.

 

 

5. How to drag a window?

Press and hold the left the mouse button, then move the mouse pointer at the same time.

 


6. How to disconnect with my computer?

For iPhone, simply turn your iPhone upside down
For iPad, click "Disconnect" button in Home screen

 

 

7. How to input non-English characters correctly?

Go to the "Settings"Screen -> Enable "Keyboard buffer".

Go back to the "Mouse & Trackpad" screen, switch to any non-English keyboard you want use, click "Enter / Return" after finishing typing.

 

 

8. Can I use Remote Mouse without Wi-Fi?

If you use a Mac with Airport mode, please click the Apple icon on the top left corner of the screen, and then choose "System Preferences" -> "Sharing" -> "Internet Sharing".

In this way, your Mac can become a Wi-Fi hotspot. Then open your mobile device's Wi-Fi, search the hotspot and make connection according to above steps.

If you use Windows 7, you can install Connectify which can transfer Windows 7 into a Wi-Fi hotspot.

 

 

9. Can I use Remote Mouse under 3G Network?

Yes.

Method 1: Share your mobile phone's hotspot with your computer.

Method 2:
If your computer is connected to Internet via a router (which is the normal situation), you need to set your router's Port Forwarding to TCP 1978, then visit http://whatismyipaddress.com on your computer to acquire the IP address.

Then, open Remote Mouse App on your mobile device -> enter the acquired IP address -> click the "tick" button. Don't choose "Start" to make connection.

If your computer is connected to Internet directly, please visit http://whatismyipaddress.com on your computer to acquire the IP address. Then run Remote Mouse App on your mobile device, enter the IP address and click the "tick" button.

 

 

10. How to prevent other people from connecting to my computer?

For Mac: Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar, choose "Options" > Set password for your computer

For PC: Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar, choose "Preferences" > "Security" > Set password for your computer

 

 

11. How to reset / change password on Remote Mouse Server?

For Mac: Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar, choose "Options" > Leave both field empty > Click "OK". You will see a pop-up message saying "Password has been disabled", which means you have reset the password successfully.

For PC: Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar, choose "Preferences" > “Security” > Leave both field empty > Click "OK". You will see a pop-up message saying "Password has been disabled", which means you have reset the password successfully.

You can enter your new password directly into the text field, click “OK” to change the password.

 

 

12. How do I know if Remote Mouse is running on my computer?

Remote Mouse will appear in the taskbar area after starting on the computer (top right corner on Mac, bottom right corner on PC).

 

 

13. I got an “Already Running?” notification, but Remote Mouse is not running on my PC.

Normally this situation happens when the communication port (TCP 1978) of Remote Mouse has been used. So Remote Mouse cannot be launched properly.

If you has multiple user accounts logged in on your PC, please check that if Remote Mouse is running under another account.

If you do not have multiple user accounts, please check that if any other networking software already used the same communication port.

 

 

14. What communication port does Remote Mouse use?

15. Remote Mouse server crash when launch on Mac OS X.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Quit Remote Mouse
  2. In the finder, open the "Library" folder in your home directory. (This is in the directory with your name under "Users", NOT under "Library" at the top level of your hard drive.) (Note: On Mac OS X10.7 - 10.9, Click on "Go" and then hold "Option". This allows you to select the hidden "Library" folder).
    Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/ and remove the "com.remotemouse.remotemouseserver.plist”.
  3. Uninstall Remote Mouse on Mac
  4. Download the latest server & reinstall: http://itunes.apple.com/app/remote-mouse/id403195710?mt=12

 

 

16. Where can I find my Registration Key?

If you purchased a registration key via Paypal, the key will be automatically sent to you email address, which is the same as your Paypal account.

In case you did not receive any email, you can search for your registration key by using this form: http://www.remotemouse.net/querykey/searchbyemail.php

 

 

17. Where do I enter the Registration Key?

Click Remote Mouse icon on the taskbar (top right corner on Mac, bottom right corner on PC), choose "Register". Then enter your email and registration key in the pop-up form.

 

 

18. How to completely remove Remote Mouse from the computer?

If you would like to uninstall Remote Mouse, please quit the programme by right-clicking on the icon in your taskbar (top right corner on Mac, bottom right corner on PC) and selecting "Quit", then uninstall.
